I just got in a stack of 14 brand new CF-54 Toughbooks, and they are quite the upgrade from the CF-53. The second one (key bit of info here, laptop #2) I opened up, popped in the memory upgrade and tried to boot; no video. The lights came on, there was HDD activity, eventually got a windows logon chime in the background, but no video.
Took the memory chip out, tried again, got video. Put it back in, no video. Took it out, no video. Little shake, maybe a loose connection? Got video....
