CF-19 MK2 GPS

I have a used CF-19FHGAXAM with a new HDD, so no native Panasonic software.
I have reset BIOS the by unplugging battery so it is at it's default values.
I installed a stock Sony GPS unit and Windows (7 Pro 32-SP1) says "No Sensor Installed".
I go to the bios and don't see any setting to enable the GPS. Everything is enabled though with the exeption of Wake on LAN.
I look in the Com3 settings and see nothing indicating that any GPS is connected to it.
I removed/reinstalled the GPS...

CF-19 MK7 BIOS Dump

Hello,

Does anyone have a BIOS dump for a CF-19 MK7 ?

A dump with AMI flasher produces a 5.7MB file which can be written back (only with AMI flasher) without issues it seems but it doesn't fix any of my issues.

As a second topic; does anyone knows how to unpack/decompress the .exe file that Panasonic provides for BIOS upgrades? I managed to unpack the exe to the point which it creates a file approximately 3MB in size which cannot be written via the AMI flasher or EEPROM flasher directly...

Toughbook CF-31 Win 7 Ultimate CF-30 Hard Drive Compatability

I am upgrading to CF 31 from CF 30. Took my relative new 300 gig CF 30 hard drive and placed it in the CF-31. To my surprise it booted up and worked!! It has Win 7 Ultimate on it. A few things don't work like the Wi-Fi and network cable port. I have drivers I believe for those. My question---I thought that windows 7 was tied to a particular hardware. Shouldn't I get a Microsoft warning that the hardware has changed and to either reinstall the operating system or call a Microsoft number? I...

Why no 4G in a CF30?

I've been told that supposedly no 4G WWAN cards are available for CF30's

Is there any particular reason?

Is it a software/driver issue with CF30's?

Is it that the WWAN card needs to be panasonic approved?

Is it a hardware incompatibility?

Hi all,

I appreciate that this is my first post and I dislike when people ask for things on thier forst forum posts on others that I moderate but this issue has been driving me to distraction!

I have a panasonic toughbook cf-53 jawzyf2 and i am trying to activate the wwan facility. I have come up against the optional kit configuration in the bios which keeps asking for a password that i just dont have and cant seem to find. If someone could help me with this id be eternally grateful...

CF 31 mk3 Construction site edition

I was going to do my CF 31 in black, but the paint job just went wrong every time I tried.
So I made a construction site edition instead.
The paint looks just like the safety neon yellow/ green. Trimming it in black really makes it stand out. I left the front bezel silver for now. I may do it in the yellow/green also. I need to visualize it for a while.
Now I need to install the SSD and Fingerprint reader. GPS is in and working.

CF-U1 64gb SSD stupidly slow.

Hi all,

I have a CF-U1 mk 2.5, and the 64gb SSD in it is dog slow, how they managed to ship this thing with this poor excuse of an SSD is beyond me. So, question is:

1. Can the onboard SD port be used as a boot option? It looks like its based on the PCI bus and not USB, so it shouldn't be limited to USB speeds?
2. Is there any other SSD options? Ive seen the 32gb is quicker, but by how much?
3. Are there any other hacks to get a different SSD in the machine? I don't really want to be...

You never know what you may get when you buy a used clean laptop from a seller on craigslist. I had bought from him in the past for a power cord. This time he was selling this cf-30. It worked much better then my old cf-29. I did not know it as the time, the OS it came with was windows 10 but was a licence from a HP. Its been years since buying Windows OS, but does Microsoft still sell its OEM disk as holographic disk or do they sell the factory sold software on thumb drives?

software based EQ for windows on your TB/TP ...

i'll bet i am not the only one that has wished that there was a way to EQ the audio on a TB or what-have-you and not had to use a hardware based solution and patch cables .
oh sure , there is winamp and VLC but these solutions have something left to be desired (kinda lame actually) .
then there is the *supposed* EQs found in some of the software for the native...

Long story short, my Toughbook CF-29's OEM AC adapter sucks (always has, sadly) and I can't afford to buy a new one right now. But I have some older ThinkPads and I've read that people have successfully used their chargers to charge CF-29s. The specs of this adapter are pictures; will this do?

cf-31 recovery without disk

Hello all looking for advice, I have a cf-31 mk1 I can see a 300mb recovery partition but when I read the manual it talks about using the recovery cd. Is there any free recovery/boot disks I can use to start the recovery and access this partition without the Panasonic disk?

my first TB - CF-C1 mk1

Hi everyone,

I've recently purchased a factory refurbished C1, C1ADACZGM (from buytough), which to my surprise looks 99% as new;

The good:
- as per the BIOS, came with only 120 hrs.
- the battery seems to have no degradation (42180 mWh)
- XP Tablet was preinstalled on the HDD, ready to config
- Win7 Pro 32bit Recovery DVD included
- stylus included
- good to very good heat management
- Core i5 standard voltage
- really light (prev. owned Thinkpad X100e, X120e)
- this thing+SSD is FAST...

Weird backlight issue

CF30Mk3/WIN7-64

Whenever I adjust the display brightness with Fn+F1/F2, it reverts to the 20% or so it sits at normally after a couple of seconds.

Adjusting it with the display properties (regardless of the power management settings) only works until I adjust it with the keyboard again, when it reverts back to its apparent default.

Has anyone had this happen before?

When searched for CF-30 BIOS and Embedded Controller files, the Panasonic Download Support site (both Panasonic.com and also pc-dl.Panasonic.co.jp/dl) lists ONLY those for the C/D Mk1 models (and even then only for the XP Downgrade versions): specifically offering only BIOS V1.00L20 and EC V1.00L17.
However, the first screen of the actual BIOS of a MK3 (CF-30Kxxxxx2M with a VISTA COA) lists it's BIOS as V3.00L20 and EC as V3.00L16. Likewise, a CF-30Kxxxxx2B with a Win7 COA lists it's...
