No 4G LTE on CF-19 MK4?

Greetings. Long time reader, first time poster.

I've got a fleet of fire apparatus with a mix of CF-19 MK4s, CF-C2s, and CF-53s.

I'm trying to upgrade the CF-19 MK4s to utilize 4G LTE through Verizon.

I've got an MC7750 and 4G SIM installed, along with the current drivers and firmware from Panasonic, and the most current version of Verizon Wireless Access Manager, 7.10.1.0 (2826a).

The MC7750 is working great, but only in 3G. If I hover the mouse over the VZAM signal strength indicator...

Hello,
Can anyone tell me which Sierra Gobi mini pcie card will work in my CF-52 MK1L Toughbook or if any unlocked card would be picked up by the laptop and work with the Panasonic drivers.
I have just had a long journey updating the BIOS in my CF-52 MK1L to recognize the Mini pcie slot (picture below) that takes the Gobi WWAN card, you can see the complete story by going to the Post the link is below. I think I have been successful but not sure as I now have to move on to the next step of...

CF30 WLAN options?

I have a CF30 that currently has a Intel 5100 WLAN card in it and (surprise surprise) I want to upgrade it

I have had a look around NBR and TBT and it appears the upgrade options are Intell 5300, Intell 6300 or a Ubiquiti SR71E

I understand that a 5300 will give me higher data transfer speeds with minimal installation issues (plug it in and it should work straight away, can anyone confirm that?)

Next option is a Intel 6300, this I've seen less about, what is to be gained by going for the...

Looking for specs on particular CF31 model

Looking at a used CF31 that's for sale. It has no OS but apparently has a 160 GB HDD, 4 GB of RAM, and an i5-520M (2.4 GHz) processor. Model code supplied by the seller is:

CF-31AWA70PA

Is anyone able to cross-reference this and tell me firstly what the base system spec is going on that code, and secondly where it sits in the CF31 range and if it's a spec that's good to have.

Thanks, Craig.

1) Ask the seller an actual picture of the item for sale if it is not listed as actual item. Ask more pictures if you are still not satisfied. Also ask the seller what Mark or model the item listed for sale. There are significant differences between model of a toughbook(MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4 & etc.). The higher the Mark the higher the speed, graphics and chipset. Other seller don't want to list this mark cause this is also one way to fool novice buyer.

2) Make sure the unit has no or free of...

MC7700 Sierra Airprime card - Cheap data plan!

Ok... I just got the T-Mobile Pre-Paid "Free Data for Life" plan. Basically, you get 200MB of data for free, and you can pre-pay for more, if you need it, buy by the day, week or month, at any time. Check with T-Mo for rates. Yes, I know that T-Mo has a smaller footprint, but it still bigger then the one I have have now, which is strictly limited to Wi-Fi!

But if you need/use less then 200 MB, again, that is free! Now, I know that is pretty much just text email, but it works for me because...

I bought this computer new in 2008 and it has been rock solid until now. I am having a heating issue that is causing the computer to slow to a crawl. CPU temps are 65-68 celcius after a couple hours use. And CPU use is going between 50-100 percent. I am guessing the CPU useage is related to heat issues as I don't tax the computer heavily- no gaming etc, just regular word processing and website use.

I upgraded this unit 2 years ago with a Samsung SSD 840 HD and Windows 7. I am very...

Hi guys and gals, first post.

I am the proud owner of a rather cheap (US$190) second-hand Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 Mk 3 running Windows 7 Pro, which is my first fully-rugged laptop. It's in pretty good condition, with just the AC cover missing, and the 56k modem and network port covers damaged. There is a chip/gouge from one of the corners and while the main latch is cracked, there is a replacement on the way.

I'm in the process of setting up the machine for some remote area...

CF-19 MK6 Bios V6.20L10 Model not supported

The CF-19 in question is a mk6 CF-192VYFX1M and has not recognized the Intel Centrino 6205 WiFi card. Most background pointed to updating the BIOS to correct switch issues with the device and to get windows and intel to play nice.

The BIOS shows V6.20L10 and the embedded controller shows V6.00L10. I tried to update the BIOS to the current version V6.00L12, but the program responds that this "model is not supported"?

I suspect that this is a custom BIOS, but I have not had any luck...

Upgrades and media software running on a Mk3 CF-19?

I need to upgrade the software on my CF-19 Mk3 Toughbook, so I'll probably need to update the HDD and RAM too.

It's my understanding that the CF-19 MK3 can be upgraded to 8GB RAM, but I've been reading here and elsewhere that 4GB is the maximum. That's a bit confusing, so if anyone has a definitive answer it'd be appreciated.

The HDD will be at least 500gb SSD which is about the same as in my current "desktop replacement" ASUS K55A laptop.

I know I can't do anything about the processor...

Hi Guys
I swapped out the standard optical drive in my CF30 for a Sony Optiarc AD5540, and discovered last night when I went to upgrade my HDD to a SSD that my CF30 simply does not recognize the new optical drive as a drive it can boot from, so I had to pull the caddy apart and refit the original optical drive

is there any way to get around this?

For all its awesomeness hardware wise my FZ-A1B Toughpad constantly freezes up and fritzes itself. Without warning it starts behaving wierdly to inputs then a short time later goes unresponsive totally. Then sometimes it miraculously comes back a very short time later or sometimes hours later or sometimes never. About 7.5 out of 10 times if I touch the power button quickly to put the device into standby mode, it doesn't matter how long before I come back and tap the power button again to...

I have a CF-19 mk6 running Win 7 Pro and have been evaluating software to make use of the portable nature of the tablet. I wanted to see what software others were using and get some comments.

General needs are to be able to mark up files in the field such as PDF (reference material or drawings), DWG (drawings), and take notes in general.

The default package seems to be Bluebeam Revu with a trial start-up.

That points to individual packages:
DWG - Autodesk TrueView (Free)

question about recovery disc clean install

I have a mk6 i just purchased, no hard drive/caddy came with the unit. I am using another hd and caddy out of my mk2. I have been convinced by you guys it is best to do a clean install of the o/s. If I buy the recovery disc from Panasonic, will I be able to install the 64 bit version of win7? If not, is there anything wrong with buying win7 64 bit o/s, doing a clean install, and then adding drivers from Panasonic site? I am pretty set on staying with win7, as I tried win10 and hated it....
