Okay.... Here it is! I was debating starting this thread the other day but now that someone has specifically asked for it.... I decided to go ahead and start one.

This thread is for general discussion and light problems/comments/questions. Anything "heavy-duty" should probably have its own thread started to make the search function a little easier.

So.... I'll start it off! My CF-30 (which I love!) is a model CF-30CCS92BM. It is pretty much where I want it... A 1.66Ghz duo-core processor...

CF-30 - Win10 Driver Issues

Hey there everyone!

Recently a coworker and myself picked up a couple really awesome Toughbooks. Well, long story short, unlike mine, his turned out to be a CF-30 MK1. (I have no idea which exact model, as the sticker specifying such is missing from the bottom of the system, and it was refurbished). I ended up upgrading mine to Windows 10 x64, which works absolutely wonderfully on my CF-30 MK3. I didn't have to update any drivers and it was completely ready to go with no issues whatsoever....

CF-19 MK1 Upgrade to Windows 7. Front buttons not working.

Hello:

I decided to upgrade my CF19 to W7 from XP. Everything works except for the front buttons. I can't figure out why they do not work. I have followed many driver instructions that I have found in Panasonic and also in this forum, including this one.

But again, nothing seems to work. I am looking for advise as to if the front buttons work with W7, if they do, how can I install them?...

Toughbook C19 centrino not powering up

Hi guys

I have had a look through the threads and cant find anything that matches my problem.

I have a toughbook C19 (centrino model) running windows xp. I recently lost my power charger so the battery fully ran down before I got a new power supply. I double checked the power supply voltage and amperage before connecting it and its the correct voltage and amperage.

I had an amber charge light for a while so I let it charge for a few hours and now have a green battery light but now when...

Experiences with CF-SX2 and CF-W8.

1. I bought the SX2 less than a year before Windows 10 was released. By that time, Panasonic had already abandoned support for the model. No new drivers or bios, no support for Win 10 upgrade. I took a chance a couple of months ago anyway. The upgrade was easy and flawless. Kudos to Microsoft, none to Panasonic.

2. My older Toughbook is a CF-W8. It was running Windows 7, using a driver package provided by Panasonic. I put off until yesterday upgrading to...

Had a CF-29 back in 2011 that you guys helped me out with but ended up selling as I was doing a lot of air travel and constantly was pulled out of line to have to start up the laptop... it was a real PITA.

I don't do any more serious travel by plane and don't bring a laptop when I do. I use an HP stream8 with Bluetooth keyboard and Mouse.

So now I was looking to replace a laptop and decided to buy this.

CF 52 usb 3.0 Expresscard

CF 52 mk4, Win7 32bit.

I tried a no name Expresscard version with an Asmedia chip. The included driver was ancient.
It occasionally blue screened. And I could frequently hear the ding dong Windows sound of connecting and disconnecting hardware.

I just ordered this one with a NEC chip. StarTech ECUSB3S254F...

Intel 7260 Intel 6300 in a CF 52 mk4

I just tested these two cards. Two stock antennas(for now) I will add the third later.

The 7260 was the stock card.
Win7, 32 bit
Using Windows connection manager.
Drivers version 15.17.01 dated 4/30/2015
15 feet from router through 1 wall.
Router is a Technicolor C2000T.
No changes other than the card itself.
The 6300 DOES NOT show up in the BIOS. Turn wifi on before the card swap.

7260 3 bars on the Windows thingy in the taskbar.

CF-19 MK1 - How to get the GPS to work

Hello Board:

I did a clean W7 install on my MK1. It came with a GPS unit already installed, I am going to be using this notebook for lots of travel. So I have a couple of questions:

Panasonic does not make a GPS software, can anyone recommend one?
My GPS was made my cursor jump around, so I disabled in the BIOS. I uploaded the GPS patch for W7 and tried to install, but it errored out, is there anything else I should have installed?
Last question, will the GPS need a WIFI card to work?...

I was searching the web and I ran across information on the Panasonic FZ-A2 android tablet. Like it's predecessor, it is a 10.1 in tablet but it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It also has a Type C USB OTG port. I didn't see it mentioned in the Panasonic USA site but it is available in Europe.

CF 31 mk3 Construction site edition

I was going to do my CF 31 in black, but the paint job just went wrong every time I tried.
So I made a construction site edition instead.
The paint looks just like the safety neon yellow/ green. Trimming it in black really makes it stand out. I left the front bezel silver for now. I may do it in the yellow/green also. I need to visualize it for a while.
Now I need to install the SSD and Fingerprint reader. GPS is in and working.

So I've been browsing around eBay lately and thinking about a couple of mods that I'm actually very surprised I've yet to see. The first one being the inside LCD and keyboard/touchpad housings being repainted. All over eBay and the rest of the internet, people are selling repainted CF-30's with everything redone except those two parts. build continued :
i strongly suggest replacing the protective cover on the front of the touch screen to prevent damage during the next few steps .

this is where the four conductor cable is cut to length.
shown is the variation of permanently attaching the USB cable .
leaving the white connector on will allow easier removal for servicing .

Hello everyone. Bought my first toughbook and love it. Not going to get into why I bought it but it was reasonably priced so figured why not. My question is if I put a GOBI 2000 card in it for 3g network capabilities is there still network companies that will sell me internet plans that let me use 3g or is that a thing of the past now. I know some people are trying to get newer cards to work with the 4g lte. I would like to use the internet though carriers when needed but is that still...

Hello everyone,

My first post and a new Toughbook owner. I bought a used CF30 Mk2 with Win7 already on it so I don't know if done correctly. I also bought a used CF-WEB301M vehicle dock separately. If the power cord is plugged into the dock and the CF30 connected, the battery charges, but ports don't work (LAN, USB tried) and the dock LED is steady red. The ports do work on the laptop.

I found the WIN 7 upgrade instructions on ToughWiki and updated the chipset drivers, the Panasonic Misc...

cf 19 mk6 touchscreen works intermittently

Shut down the unit and restart, everything works fine. Work 5 to 30 min and it stops working all together until it is shut down and restarted again. I tried downloading the driver direct from Panasonic and installing but no difference. Unit was set up with recovery disc from Panasonic originally. Any ideas?
