Okay.... Here it is! I was debating starting this thread the other day but now that someone has specifically asked for it.... I decided to go ahead and start one.

This thread is for general discussion and light problems/comments/questions. Anything "heavy-duty" should probably have its own thread started to make the search function a little easier.

So.... I'll start it off! My CF-30 (which I love!) is a model CF-30CCS92BM. It is pretty much where I want it... A 1.66Ghz duo-core processor...

CF-31 CPU options

Even looking at the currently available options, theres 3 of them...... what are the benefits of any of them over the others?

I mean, the CF30 only had 1 option available at any given time, surely it would make more sense to do the same with the CF31's

No 4G LTE on CF-19 MK4?

Greetings. Long time reader, first time poster.

I've got a fleet of fire apparatus with a mix of CF-19 MK4s, CF-C2s, and CF-53s.

I'm trying to upgrade the CF-19 MK4s to utilize 4G LTE through Verizon.

I've got an MC7750 and 4G SIM installed, along with the current drivers and firmware from Panasonic, and the most current version of Verizon Wireless Access Manager, 7.10.1.0 (2826a).

The MC7750 is working great, but only in 3G. If I hover the mouse over the VZAM signal strength indicator...

No 4G LTE on CF-19 MK4?

this list is far from being a "huge" but there are several formulas that can be put to good use when working on the rf side of a toughbook .
one particularly useful formula is for figuring out the dimensions of a "patch" antenna for gps reception .
it is not a huge step to design a "phased array" in order to get some gain for use in less-than-optimal situations :

GOBI2000 GPS install issues?

I've recently installed a Gobi 2000 WWAN/GPS card and have got it showing up in Device manager as:
Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB Diagnostics 250F (COM7)
Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB NMEA 250F (COM5)

Problem is, Windows isnt recognising it in "Location and other sensors", and when I attempted to install Lenovo ThinkVantage it came back with an error saying:
"No GPS adapter is installed in the system or the driver of the GPS Adapter is not installed in the system"

What have I missed?

CF-30 mk2 doesn't work correctly on Win7 ?

Hi All,

I've done a clean install of Vista 32 bit using the factory recovery DVD and then upgraded to win7 pro 32bit. Yet even after using the drivers off the Panasonic website (the bundle option that installs itself) I can't seem to get everything to work correctly.

What's the correct procedure for installing Win7 on a CF-30 mk2 ?

Can I use this IBM ThinkPad AC adapter (FRU P/N: 02K6751) to charge my CF-29?

Long story short, my Toughbook CF-29's OEM AC adapter sucks (always has, sadly) and I can't afford to buy a new one right now. But I have some older ThinkPads and I've read that people have successfully used their chargers to charge CF-29s. The specs of this adapter are pictures; will this do?

Why no 4G in a CF30?

I've been told that supposedly no 4G WWAN cards are available for CF30's

Is there any particular reason?

Is it a software/driver issue with CF30's?

Is it that the WWAN card needs to be panasonic approved?

Is it a hardware incompatibility?

Hard drive encrypted cf-19

good evening guys
I was wondering if anyone could advise me , I have a cf-19 toughbook which I use for work and has my work packages on . I wanted to copy them on to my laptop so my son (apprentice) could use them at night , I took it to the local computer shop as I am a cave man on this sort of stuff , when I returned he told me that the hard drive was encrypted and it couldn't be done to only then try and sell me a new toughbook , does this sound about right or is he trying it on

the reason I ask is I'm currently in the US but returning to Australia soon and I'm not sure if that is going to pose a problem in any way

where can i find Bios,EC and Firmware for a CF-18KHH62BE ?
is there any newer than Bios V4.00L11 and EC V4.30L13 ?

I´m trying to get a SSD (Zheino) to work on it, but without success.
Maybe because of the BIOS, but i´m not shure

CF-30 external display

I am using a CF-30 with a Precision Mounting docking station in my truck that I use for tuning. I'd like to move the docking station from where is it mounted to the extended cab area behind the passenger seat.

I just realized that my CF-30 has bluetooth and have enabled it. I've got a bluetooth keyboard and mouse attached now.

What I'd like to find is an 8 to 10" display that is 12vdc operated to use. The docking station has a vga jack.

Any suggestions appreciated.

a new fellow posted a question about a display or monitor for his pickup .
a link to cheesebay was provided and the price was akin to ; "a pound of flesh .." , a quart jar of vaseline and signing over a first born male child ... all at the same time !
listed were some (ahem) "slightly cheaper" units that certainly seem like they would do the job :...

Hi Guys,
im a new panasonic nooby and bought my first panasonic CF-19 MK2 (CF-19FHJ87AG). I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and my 3G Sim Card Slot doesnt work. I dont find any drivers or software for the CF-.19 which works on Windows 7.

I Hope and i think the software is MobiLink really?

Can anyone help me?

Problems doing clean install w/ recovery disc

cf-19 mk6, new 850 samsung ssd, ordered disc from Heartland services for Win7 64bit for my machine. Windows will open to the recovery screen but then I get an error message saying "cf-19 mk6 not supported". The only option when exiting this error message shuts down the laptop. Did heartland send me the wrong disc?

Looking for specs on particular CF31 model

Looking at a used CF31 that's for sale. It has no OS but apparently has a 160 GB HDD, 4 GB of RAM, and an i5-520M (2.4 GHz) processor. Model code supplied by the seller is:

CF-31AWA70PA

Is anyone able to cross-reference this and tell me firstly what the base system spec is going on that code, and secondly where it sits in the CF31 range and if it's a spec that's good to have.

I hope I'm not breaking any of your forum rules/taboos, but I've never used your threads before. I checked a few stickies, so I think I'm good to post this here. I also did not see his topic posted, if this has already been answered, please direct me with a link and I will gladly read up.

My issue:
We replaced the disc drive in my boss's Toughbook thinking that the old one had simply died for whatever reason. Now we can't get the durn thing to even acknowledge that the new drive is in.

CF 31 mk3 Construction site edition

I was going to do my CF 31 in black, but the paint job just went wrong every time I tried.
So I made a construction site edition instead.
The paint looks just like the safety neon yellow/ green. Trimming it in black really makes it stand out. I left the front bezel silver for now. I may do it in the yellow/green also. I need to visualize it for a while.
Now I need to install the SSD and Fingerprint reader. GPS is in and working.
