OK so I have a MK1, 16gb, 1.33GHZ, 1GB RAM, blah blah blah and an MK2 with 1.6GHZ, 2GB RAM and 64gb...
I wanted to share my findings.
Both run windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 fine. It's a bit more work on the MK1, it's just slower.
The 64GB SSD is JUNK! It cannot write faster than 30mb/s and less than 1mb/s in random read/writes. The 16gb is roughly 3 times faster, about standard for IDE Hard drive. I put the 16GB SSD in the MK2 and it's a beast with windows 10.

Help me decide what to get next.
Hello guys I currently have a cf-30 mk2 it has served me well. But I'm thinking of getting something newer what would you guys recommend? Little background I and a filed tech I am often exposed to dirt,mud,rain, dust etc id like something rugged that can hold up to the elements as my cf-30 has. I run all sorts of dignostics software and I have all manuals on my PC so I need something snappy with maybe a touch screen. On a CF-19 CHBAXBM (Mk 1, it seems), upgraded to Windows 7, after several month of correct working, now, 9 times out of ten, the lower right button "back to destop" stays lit, as if the Windows+D button was sticked pushed. CF-29 What drivers (and OS) do I need for my 3G to work?
Hello.
I recently bought a CF-29. I was promised this had 3G capabilities if I plugged in a working sim with activated 3G. I did and nothing happened. I am assuming this is because I do not have the correct drivers?
How do I check this? It is running windows 7 so I think I need to downgrade to XP since the drivers are for XP (is it ok to use SP3 since the drivers are only updated until SP2?)
How do I know if it actually has this capability? The number is: CF-29HTT40BG it has working...

I have looked online without much luck. I have found list of what generation they are according to the first digit after the CF-52, but no information beyond that.

I am trying to extend the usability of my CF 18 and CF 30s, I want to use Linux but not have a partition setup on laptop. So I Built 2 separate usb sticks, one ubunto 13.2 and one opensuse Linux. Using them on desktop they will boot and of course not affect my windows.
Now the strange on either usb stick will not boot on any of my laptop?? I tried in BIOS USB FFD< USB CROM< USB CD<USB KEY and not one of the laptops will see it on the boot-up, always goes into windows??? The...

I have just loaded win7 64bitt onto my mk3 cf30, installed a media bay battery and a Samsung 250gb ssd. It is now my all time favourite laptop ever... speed is great, battery life great, emmisive backlit keyboard awesome.
After dicking around and reading the advise on here I have found that most of the cf31 drivers eventually sorted me out (from the Panasonic japan site) there is one that has stumped me.

CF-31 GOBI issue
I have a fleet full of CF-31s, and I want to pull them off of the external Verizon 4G cards and go internal with GOBI modems. I pulled a GOBI 4000 from another CF-31 (different fleet), but the BIOS/Windows doesn't recognize it. I am given to believe that I need an unlocker for the GOBI card, perhaps SPGOBI2.zip. Where might I find that file? These are CF31 Mk1s, model number CF-31AAAAX1M.

I just bought a (new to me) cf31 mk1. CF-31AEA7J2M and installed a 240GB SSD, Win7 64, and the toughbook driver suite for a CF31 mk1 from the Panasonic toughbook website. I checked for a wifi icon in the tray and get nothing. I checked the bios and all the wireless options show enabled. The "on/off" switch by the SD card slot, under the cover marked "wireless" and "MP" and "SDHC" is switched on. I even went back to the Toughbook website and searched for CF31 mk1 wireless...

Hi All, I haven't been around here for years, I know, I'm sorry but other things have been in the way, anyway I'm in need of some help, please....:hi2:
I've purchased 4 CF-18's (CF-18KHH64BE off of Fleabay here in the UK) advertised as working apart from the touchscreen, I managed to get 2 to calibrate, then I updated the O/S (XP Pro) and the Touchscreen stopped working.
